The group’s post asked for people to remove<br />the clasps before disposing of old bras, as<br />they are used to repair damaged turtle shells. Wildthunder, via Facebook Although it may seem like an odd first-aid tool,<br />using bra clasps is actually a common practice since<br />there aren’t many specialized tools for turtle injuries. When a turtle experiences a shell fracture,<br />the clasps are adhered to the shell and hooked<br />together to stabilize the crack. Bra clasps are especially handy for severe injuries,<br />as wire can be weaved through the clasps and<br />tightened over time as needed.
