Anderson Cooper to Inherit
Mother’s $200 Million Fortune Following the recent passing of his mother,
Gloria Vanderbilt, Cooper is set to inherit
the near entirety of her $200 million fortune. Vanderbilt, known for her fashion empire, passed away
at 95-years-old in June 2019, due to stomach cancer. Vanderbilt stated in her will that her eldest
son, Leopold Stokowski, was to receive her
Midtown Manhattan apartment. Cooper on the other hand, was to
receive “all the rest” of her property. It is unclear what “all the rest” means,
as Vanderbilt was expected to leave
part of her fortune to charity. The inheritance is reportedly a surprise to Cooper,
as he disclosed in 2014 that his mother had told
him there was not a trust fund for him. At the time, Cooper expressed he was
fine with the arrangement because he
believed inherited wealth was a “curse.” Anderson Cooper,
via Business Insider
