MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said the implications of the abolishing the death penalty for the 11 offences must be viewed separately.<br /><br />He said there should not be a blanket attempt by the government to abolish it all together.<br /><br />He said the government should also take into consideration of a survey which showed that 78% out of 22,000 individuals polled were against abolishing the penalty. <br /><br />On Thursday (July 4), Minister is the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Liew Vui Keong said a Bill will be tabled in Parliament in the coming week to abolish the mandatory death penalty for 11 serious offences.
