A paraglider has filmed the descent from near the summit of Mont Blanc last month (June 26).

The daring paraglider takes off from 4,387 metres above sea level - less than 500 metres from the summit - and takes the scenic route back to Chamonix on the ground.

Footage captures the stunning scenery of the French and Italian Alps as the camera's view has an international scope of the long-disputed summit border between Franco and Italo officials.

The glider manages to cover a distance of just under 32 kilometres and reaching speeds of over 50kph (31mph) as they fly over sites such as Mer De Glace in the valley Aiguille Du Midi.

The flight which was a group effort also saw localised rain showers in the distance.

The filmer said: "150 paragliders top landed on Mont Blanc. I was lucky enough to be part of that."
