Jelutong MP RSN Rayer accused the opposition today of brainwashing fishermen to protest the South Reclamation (PSR) project.<br /><br />This prompted Tanjung Karang MP Noh Omah to challenge the DAP MP to meet the fishermen personally.<br /><br />Local NGOs are opposed to the project and have launched a petition asking Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to cancel it, saying that it would negatively impact the environment and livelihoods of the local fishing community.<br /><br />The project is meant to be developed to fund the RM46 billion Penang Transport Master Plan.
