Senior S. Korean diplomat to visit U.S. to discuss Japan's export restrictions

A senior South Korean diplomat in charge of economic affairs is heading to the U.S. today to discuss Japan's recent export restrictions.<br />On Thursday local time, Kim Hee-sang, director-general for bilateral economic affairs, is to meet Roland de Marcellus, acting deputy assistant secretary for international finance and development at the U.S. State Department.<br />The meeting was originally to prepare for high-level economic talks between Seoul and Washington, but it's highly likely that it will also touch on the recent retaliatory export restrictions by Tokyo.<br />Kim is also scheduled to meet with Marc Knapper, deputy assistant secretary for Korea and Japan.<br />
