While on a boat ride in Lake Michigan, two boaters discover an endangered opossum fighting for its life on July 6 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.<br /><br />Kevin and Char Morse went out for a boat ride when they encountered the opossum swimming in the deep waters between the piers of the White Lake Channel, halfway between White Lake and Lake Michigan.<br /><br />"The animal was struggling and had no way out of the water, as the piers have only ladders in the walls for emergency escapes," says Char Morse.<br /><br />The two then toss the opossum a flotation device which it clings onto and the two were able to pull it onto the boat.
