The United Nations Command has made it clear that it has not offered, nor has Japan requested a Sending State designation.<br />The UN Command stated that some news reports about Japan allegedly being considered as a potential Sending State that can be militarily involved in case of a military conflict on the Korean Peninsula... are "flagrantly false".<br />It added that the UNC continues to work closely with the members of the South Korean government on all aspects of the UNC organizational structure.<br />Commander General Robert Abrams said the UN Command strives to work effectively and transparently with its participating member states and South Korea.<br />
