CNN reports that Congressman Justin Amash, an outspoken critic of President Trump, has quit the Republican Party.<br />In a Washington Post op-ed Amash wrote: "Today, I am declaring my independence and leaving the Republican Party."<br />Amash asked citizens and fellow politicians to reject party loyalty and seek something better.<br />Trump appeared to celebrate Amash's departure on Twitter.<br />Trump slammed Amash as a party defector who would not have been re-elected. <br />
