A heat wave has settled over Europe, with France breaking its high-temperature record with a scorching 45.9 degrees Celsius.<br />French and Italian officials have issued a "red alert" weather warning, another first, and other countries have stepped up safety measures.<br />Many countries have canceled schools, and are making sure water is provided to the homeless and anyone else in need.<br />Germany, France, Poland, and the Czech Republic have all recorded their highest-ever June temperatures, as well. <br />
