According to CNN, Naomi Osaka defeated Anna Karolina Schmiedlova in the first round of the French Open.<br />The top ranked female tennis player in the world prevailed after three sets.<br />But Osaka dropped the first set to Schmiedlova, quickly falling behind 0-to-6.<br />Over the next two sets, Osaka rallied against the 90th ranked player, winning 7-to-6 and 6-to-1.<br />But Schmiedlova held the lead during the second set and 5-to-4 and 6-to-5, bringing Osaka within two points of defeat during the 12th game. <br />
