Indonesian residents found two dugongs, one adult and one juvenile, washing up dead on the shores in Abasi village in West Papua Province.<br /><br />Footage shows a carcass of one of the sea mammals floating in the shallow waters of a beach on July 11. <br /><br />Residents can be seen tying ropes around a bloated carcass before transporting it inland.<br /><br />Scientists at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences of the University of Papua are now working to establish the cause of death of the marine mammals.
