Malcolm D. Lee to Take Over as Director on 'Space Jam 2' Lee, who also helmed the <br />comedy movie 'Girls Trip,' <br />takes over for Terence Nance. According to Deadline, Nance's departure from <br />the project was amicable and over creative differences. The film, which stars LeBron James, <br />hits theaters on July 16, 2021. Besides James, Bugs Bunny and numerous Looney Tunes characters, there will cameos by several pro basketballers. They include Anthony Davis, <br />Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson, <br />Chris Paul and the WNBA's Diana Taurasi. 'Star Trek: Discovery' lead actress <br />Sonequa Martin-Green also signed on.
