Disney May Cast Harry Styles as Prince Eric in 'The Little Mermaid' According to 'The Hollywood Reporter,' <br />Styles is in negotiations to play the <br />titular mermaid's love interest. He has also begun to break <br />into the world of acting, with his <br />big screen debut in 2017's 'Dunkirk.' Should he land the part of Prince Eric, Styles would star opposite <br />Halle Bailey's Ariel. Despite the original movie's numerous songs, <br />Prince Eric did not sing in the original 1989 film. But with Styles' musical capabilities, <br />that could easily change in <br />the upcoming remake. Along with Bailey's own singing talent, the pair <br />could easily team up for memorable new tracks. 'The Little Mermaid' will <br />begin filming in early 2020.
