Beachgoers and wildlife officials teamed up to save a pod of pilot whales that washed up on a beach in St.Simons Island, Georgia.<br /><br />Footage shows dozens of whales swimming in the shallow waters close to the beach on July 16.<br /><br />Rescuers were seen pushing and shoving the distressed marine mammals back to the sea.<br /><br />Three of the whales died while the rest made it safely back into the sea, local media reported.<br /><br />Pilot whales are often involved in mass strandings due to their social nature, according to the American Cetacean Society.
