These Three 'Game of Thrones' Stars
Nominated Themselves for Emmys HBO’s show ’Game of Thrones’ recently swept the Emmy nominations with a total of 32 nominations. Among them were Alfie Allen for
outstanding supporting actor in a drama series, Gwendoline Christie for outstanding
supporting actress in a drama series and Carice van Houten for outstanding
guest actress in a drama series. These ‘Game of Thrones’ stars were not
entered by HBO for Emmy consideration,
but rather paid the $225 entry fee themselves. HBO did however successfully nominate
Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey,
Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams. It is not uncommon for shows with a multitude
of series regulars to limit their choices, but it is uncommon that those who self-submit
themselves end up receiving the nomination.
