Does Using FaceApp<br />Put Your Privacy at Risk? An app called FaceApp has <br />gone viral, with many people<br />using the app to age themselves. More than 100 million people have<br />downloaded the app so far, making it<br />the top-ranked app in 121 countries. The app uses artificial intelligence<br />to transform users' uploaded photos<br />into different ages and genders. However, various privacy advocates have<br />found the app’s privacy policy to be concerning. Photos used in FaceApp are reportedly<br />uploaded and processed in the cloud, granting the company a never-ending license to use them. via FaceApp<br />Terms of Service When asked by<br />‘The Washington Post’<br />what this meant,<br />FaceApp CEO Yaroslav<br />Goncharov attempted<br />to ease concerns. Goncharov revealed that although<br />the app is granted a “perpetual”<br />license of photos, most are deleted<br />from its servers after 48 hours. He also said that FaceApp doesn't download<br />a user’s entire camera roll, only the photos<br />“selected by a user for editing.”
