Deputy Defence Minister Liew Chin Tong has called for a consensus within the government, within society on the role of the armed forces and when they should be mobilised.<br /><br />He said everyone including leaders have to be aware that the armed forces are not sitting aimlessly at the camp and should be deployed for the jobs they are specialised in.<br /><br />He added that in other countries, the army is seen as a premium organisation.
