The village of Nagatani in central Japan's Fukui Prefecture has been left untouched for over 20 years after residents abandoned the settlement due to plans to build a dam nearby.<br /><br />Footage shows how nature has reclaimed the village as several buildings, including a shrine and temple, have seen their roofs collapse.<br /><br />In 1966 there were plans to build a dam close to the village but the residents fought against this proposition to no avail.<br /><br />Eventually, the villagers left one by one seeing Nagatani become a desolate settlement.
