The U.S. Commerce Department plans to launch an anti-dumping probe on South Korea's PET sheet, which is used in the packaging of eggs and vegetables.<br />According to South Korea's state-funded trade and investment promotion organization, KOTRA, the measure comes after U.S. firms lodged a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission this month.<br />They claimed they were being hurt by cheap PET sheet imports from South Korea, Mexico and Oman.<br />Seventeen South Korean firms are included in the complaint and American firms are demanding anti-dumping tariffs of between 44-point-45 to 52-point-39 percent on products from South Korea.<br />The Commerce Department will launch the probe on July 29th and make a final decision by February 2020.<br />
