Apple has shut its stores or closed them early in Hong Kong, amid mounting unrest and a night of violence.<br />According to Gizmodo, demonstrators have taken to the streets for seven straight weeks there.<br />The protests are in response to a proposal by the authoritarian Chinese government to allow extradition of Hong Kong residents to the mainland.<br />Such extradition would all but guarantee Hong Kong residents in its infamously unfair judicial system. <br />
