Festivalgoers in the Vietnamese province of Lao Cai participate in a hilarious banana tree climbing competition.<br /><br />This festival is usually held in July to September every year in the northern mountainous provinces and people hold a competition to climb banana trees. <br /><br />People will apply oil to the banana tree trunks to make the contest more challenging, the winner is the one who gets the flag at the top of the tree.<br /><br />This footage was filmed in September 2018.
