Footage from the stratosphere shows a model SpongeBob Squarepants above the earth's surface near Grand Rapids, Michigan after being attached to a weather balloon.<br /><br />The mission that started at the Byron Centre saw the figurine go up to 90,000 feet in just under two hours.<br /><br />After reaching the peak height the balloon descended back to earth after a brief free fall.<br /><br />The device also endured temperatures of minus sixty degrees (Fahrenheit).<br /><br />The footage was filmed on July 7, 2015.
