Sixteen 1st Marine Division Marines were arrested Thursday at Camp Pendleton in California.<br />According to Business Insider, the arrests took place during a battalion formation.<br />The arrests were in relation to alleged involvement in crimes ranging from human smuggling to drug-related offenses.<br />Two other Marines from the same unit had been arrested previously, and gave up information.<br />They were accused of attempting to smuggle undocumented immigrants into the US for financial gain. <br />
