A Hong Kong lawmaker tried to persuade riot police to give protesters a chance to retreat.<br /><br />He made the appeal with a megaphone, while facing police lines in Sai Ying Pun near China Liaison Office on Sunday (July 28).<br /><br />The filmer told Newsflare: ''Minutes after this scene, riot police and special tactical units ran forward under teargas fire and arrested at least a dozen protesters.''<br /><br />''Lawmakers doing this are accused by officers of not letting the police do their work good as they can't fire teargas without clear shot ahead.''
