A North Korean man has been taken into custody by South Korean authorities after attempting to cross the border.<br />South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff says the man was spotted moving southward from the Imjin-gang River late Wednesday towards the Military Demarcation Line inside the DMZ.<br />A probe is under way on whether the man wants to defect as well as on how he was able to cross the border.<br />The military says there were no unusual movements by the North Korean military at the time.<br />
