Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that the government had given a condition to Lynas that they had to have a plan to deal with the radioactive waste produced by the company.<br /><br />He said the government was waiting for Lynas to tell them their plans on dealing with the waste and whether they found a place they can deposit the waste or not.<br /><br />He said this in response to a question on whether they would allow the waste from Lynas to remain in Malaysia and ask the company to build a plant to dispose of the waste instead of exporting it out.
