Ronald Reagan Uses Racist Term <br />in Newly Revealed Audio.<br />In the clip, the former U.S. president is <br />heard calling African delegates at <br />the United Nations "monkeys.".<br />The audio was released by Tim Naftali, <br />former president of the Richard Nixon <br />Presidential Library and Museum.<br />According to Naftali, Reagan made the comments in a phone call with then-president Nixon in 1971 when he was the <br />Governor of California.<br />Reagan was not happy when representatives of Tanzania <br />began dancing after a vote was confirmed to recognize <br />the People's Republic of China.<br />China had been granted a seat instead of Taiwan, who Reagan was a staunch defender of.<br />To see those, those monkeys from those African countries -- damn them, they're still uncomfortable wearing shoes!, Ronald Reagan, via audio clip.<br />The phone call between Nixon and Reagan <br />was originally unearthed back in 2000.<br />But the portion that had Reagan using the racist term had not been revealed until now.
