US Defense Secretary Mark Esper said on Sunday that China is destabilizing the Indo-Pacific.<br />Esper charged Beijing with predatory economics, intellectual property theft and “weaponizing the global commons”.<br />Reuters reports Esper is on his first overseas trip as U.S. defense secretary, amid an escalating trade war with China.<br />His comments threaten to inflame already heightened tensions between Washington and Beijing.
