The US federal government is treating the El Paso shooting that killed 20 people as a "domestic terrorist" case.<br />US Attorney John Bash says the FBI is investigating the attack with a view toward bringing federal hate crime charges.<br />The suspect posted an online scree expressing concern that an influx of Hispanics into the US will replace aging white voters.<br />He feared such a demographic shift could turn Texas blue in elections and swing the White House to the Democrats.
