Media reports from Hong Kong suggest that at least 14,000 people from more than 20 sectors have committed to the strike, crippling parts of the city.<br /><br />The strike comes after another weekend of violent protests, which the government said were pushing the city to "an extremely dangerous edge".<br /><br />An estimated 200 flights have been cancelled due to aviation workers reportedly joining the strike, leaving hundreds of people stranded at the airport.
