Heavy smoke poured out of a van after it suddenly exploded on a road in southern China's Chengdu city today (August 5).<br /><br />The dramatic video shows thick smoke coming out of a van engulfed in flames after it exploded on a road near Chengyu overpass.<br /><br />According to reports, the sodium chlorate caught on fire in the van, causing the explosion.<br /><br />There was only one driver in the car during the incident and he was not injured.<br /><br />Nearby residents felt the glass windows shake when the explosion happened. <br /><br />The fire has been put out and the van driver was arrested by the police. The case is in further investigation.
