Sony Picks Andy Serkis <br />to Direct 'Venom' Sequel.<br />'Venom 2' will see the return of Tom Hardy <br />as anti-hero Eddie Brock, the host of <br />the superpowered alien symbiote.<br />Despite bad reviews from critics, the 2018 movie took in over $850 million worldwide against <br />a budget of around $110 million.<br />Serkis is best known for his motion-capture performances in the 'Lord of the Rings' and <br />'Planet of the Apes' films.<br />Most recently, he has ventured into the world of directing with 2018's 'Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle.'.<br />According to 'Variety,' production is being aimed at starting this fall.<br />Rumors are now circulating the movie will drop <br />in October 2020, two years after 'Venom' <br />premiered in October 2018.<br />Information on the film's plot and who else will star in 'Venom 2' <br />have not yet been revealed.
