Hundreds of Walgreens Stores to Shut Down in the US.<br />According to CNBC, approximately 200 locations will be closed as apart of a cost management <br />and transformation plan.<br />In a statement, pharmacy said that it <br />doesn't believe the closings will have <br />much of an impact on customers.<br />We are undertaking a transformational cost management program to accelerate the ongoing transformation of our business, enable investments in key areas and to become a more efficient enterprise, Walgreens, <br />via statement.<br />The company has not <br />disclosed where in America <br />the 200 closings will occur.<br />Currently, 10,000 Walgreens can be found in the United States.<br />Walgreens Boots Alliance, the chain's parent company, also plans to close down 200 of its locations in the United Kingdom as well.<br />The closings come as customers have begun using the internet more for purchasing <br />prescription drugs.
