美국무부, 방위비분담금 "트럼프, 동맹국들이 더 기여하길 원해"<br /><br />The United States wants its all its allies to contribute more to shared defense,… and South Korea is not an exception to the rule. <br />This according to U.S. State Department Spokesperson Morgan Ortagus on Thursday.<br />She said fairer burden sharing was one of President Trump's campaign pledges, adding it has been an issue Trump has been crystal clear on. <br />The statement comes after President Trump's tweet on Wednesday saying the allies have started negotiations to renew their defense cost-sharing deal and Seoul has agreed to pay substantially more.<br />However, South Korea's foreign ministry denies the talks have started.<br />U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper, who is currently in Seoul, will meet his South Korean counterpart on Friday and they are likely discuss the cost-sharing deal. <br />
