Multiple manta rays were filmed swimming surrounded by plastic rubbish in Bali, Indonesia, in 2014.<br /><br />The rays appeared to be ingesting some of the waste while surface feeding in the ocean around Nusa Penida, a small island off Bali.<br /><br />"Plastic is a huge problem for wildlife in this area which is at the convergence of two oceans" (Indian and Pacific), writes the filmer.<br /><br />The footage was filmed in 2014 but Bali is still grappling with the problem, which has been declared an annual "trash emergency" by local authorities.
