Hundreds of airport staff and protesters were filmed on Monday walking home from Hong Kong International Aiport after protesters forced the cancellation of all departing flights. <br /><br />Staff were told to leave early due to the shutdown but were forced to walk because of long queues at the airport for public transport.<br /><br />Many protesters are also reported to be fleeing in advance of an expected police clearance operation, which some fear could be violent.<br /><br />Thousands of anti-government protesters have gathered at the airport, which is one of the world's busiest.<br /><br />Officials said operations had been "seriously disrupted" by the protests.
