Firefighters are working to extinguish a wildfire raging on the holiday island of Gran Canaria that has forced hundreds to evacuate.<br /><br />Footage captured on August 11 shows massive flames engulfing a mountain close to Tejeda town.<br /><br />At least 1,000 people have been evacuated from their homes.<br /><br />According to local media, a reckless man working with a welding torch caused the first flames that later spread engulfing around 1,500 hectares.
