An Indian Air Force helicopter rescued 125 people trapped by severe flooding in Gujarat in western India on Monday.<br /><br />Floodwaters had surrounded their village in Kutch District and cut off all escape routes. <br /><br />They were forced to huddle together on the only dry land they could find on a section of the Naraa-Hajipur Road. <br /><br />With foodwaters rising all the time, Gujarat State Emergency Operation Centre officials made a distress call to the Indian Air Force, which sent an Mi-17 V5 helicopter to rescue them.<br /><br />The pilot deftly landed the chopper on the fragile road and took all the stranded villagers to safety.
