Scientists Believe Teeth Can<br />Be Regrown With Stem Cells A group of scientists at the University of<br />Plymouth believe they have found the stem<br />cells responsible for tooth formation. They have also discovered Dlk1, which is the gene<br />responsible for sparking these stem cells into action. This discovery could be revolutionary, as there<br />is currently no way to repair damaged<br />teeth aside from fillings or crowns. According to the CDC, seven percent<br />of Americans have lost at least one<br />tooth to decay by age 17. Among adults who are 65 to 74 years old,<br />26 percent have lost all their teeth.
