Harry Styles Reportedly Cast as Prince Eric in ‘The Little Mermaid’<br /> According to TheDisInsider, Harry Styles has<br />officially signed on to star in Disney’s upcoming<br />live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid.” He will reportedly star in the film as<br />Prince Eric, the love interest of Ariel,<br />who will be played by Halle Bailey. Disney has not confirmed <br />the news. Rumors of the One Direction<br />singer’s possible involvement in<br />the film began back in July 2019. Since then, fans have<br />eagerly called for Styles<br />to land the role, as they<br />believe he is a perfect fit. In the original film, Prince Eric does<br />not perform any songs, but that could<br />change given Styles’s musical background. Although Styles does not have much acting<br />experience, he did play a minor role in “Dunkirk,”<br />which grossed a total of $527.3 million worldwide. Production on “The Little Mermaid”<br />is expected to begin in January 2020.
