South Korea's finance minister says the government will promptly start spending on social overhead capital in the second half of 2019 to revitalize the domestic economy.<br />In the ministerial meeting on Wednesday, Hong Nam-ki said the government will spend nearly 14-billion U.S. dollars on public housing, roads and railroads.<br />The government also plans to enhance productivity and safety in the construction sector by promoting research and development for smart construction technology.<br />He also said more regulations will be eased to help the building sector.<br />
