Dale Earnhardt Jr. Hospitalized <br />After Plane Crash<br />.<br />The former NASCAR driver's private plane <br />crashed at a Tennessee airport on Thursday.<br />.<br />Earnhardt Jr., his wife, Amy, their <br />15-month-old daughter, two pilots <br />and a dog were all on board the plane.<br />.<br />Based on initial reports, everyone made it out alive.<br />, Thomas Gray, Carter County Sheriff's Department, via statement.<br />Earnhardt Jr. was taken to a local hospital for <br />evaluation after the crash at 3:40 p.m. EST.<br />.<br />The plane was engulfed in flames after the crash <br />landing at Elizabethton Municipal Airport.<br />.<br />Earnhardt Jr. will take the weekend off from <br />his broadcasting duties at NBC Sports.<br />.<br />This weekend's NASCAR race will take place 15 miles <br />from the crash site at Bristol Motor Speedway.<br />.<br />We’re all in agreement that he should take this weekend off to be with his family.
