South Korea saw a significant rise in coal consumption last year,... according to an annual report by British Petroleum.<br />The country's consumption of coal grew by two-point-four percent on-year in 2018,... hitting 88-point-two million tonnes oil equivalent.<br />The figure puts South Korea in fifth place in terms of total coal consumption among the OECD countries after China, India, the U.S. and Japan.<br />The UK, Germany and the U.S. saw coal consumption drop by 16-point-6 percent, seven-point-two percent and four-point-three percent respectively.<br />
