Thousands of butterflies gather on the ground after heavy rain in Phitsanulok, central Thailand, on June 8.<br /><br />The insects descended on the area outside the temple in damp conditions following a monsoon downpour.<br /><br />The white creatures were filmed fluttering around as Buddhist monks and visitors watched them settle in several clusters on the ground. <br /><br />Onlooker Supachai Worathirasathit said: ''I was going for a trip in a cave and I saw this nearby. <br /><br />"I was very lucky to go at the time this was happening because it doesn't happen a lot. <br /><br />"Only during the months of May or June when there is rain.''
