Franchisee attorney, Jeff Goldstein, explains franchise law and finding a franchise law firm.

There are three groups of franchise attorneys:

1. Franchisor Attorneys: Represent only franchisors. They operate out of large corporate law firms usually with a national and international presence. They charge higher rates and their cases are generally easier to represent than a franchisee claim.
2. Franchisee Attorneys: Represent only franchisees and dealers and are smaller in size then a franchisor firm. Only three left in the United States, including Goldstein Law Firm.
3. Both Franchisor and Franchisee attorneys who represent both sides. This can become an issue since both sites are polarized and conflict with each other.

Our law firm represents franchisees all over the country and compete with the hybrid attorneys who litigate both sides. These type of attorneys do not have the best interest of the franchisee in mind. One example of a franchise case we handle often is an emergency termination. This is where a franchisee or dealer has been terminated and we assist when the franchisor is not cooperative with rescinding. Our firm has a 90% success rate in these type of cases.

Contact us for more information:

Goldstein Law Firm, PLLC
1629 K St. NW, Suite 300
Washington, DC 20006
202-293-3947
https://www.goldlawgroup.com
