Colin Kaepernick Reveals What <br />Led to His National Anthem Protest.<br />In a new interview with Paper, the NFL quarterback said a fatal 2015 shooting by San Francisco police <br />pushed him to take a knee.<br />The incident involved authorities shooting 26-year-old Mario Woods nearly two dozen times<br />following a stabbing incident.<br />Kaepernick and his girlfriend, <br />radio and TV host Nessa, went on to <br />start the Know Your Rights Camp.<br />The initiative is meant to help educate minority youths in cases <br />of encounters with law officials.<br />Around the same time Know Your Rights started <br />in 2016, Kaepernick began kneeling <br />during the National Anthem.<br />He has not played since the end of the 2016 season and later sued the NFL, claiming teams were conspiring to not sign him over his protests.<br />His lawsuit has since been settled and Kaepernick now says <br />he is ready to make a <br />pro football comeback
