Taylor Swift to Re-Record Old Songs <br />After Scooter Braun Deal .<br />In June of this year, Braun purchased Swift's former label, Big Machine.<br />As a result, Braun gained majority ownership of <br />Swift's master recordings of her earlier work.<br />In a Tumblr post, the "You Need to Calm Down" <br />singer claimed she was denied a <br />reasonable chance to own her own work.<br />She said she was only "given an opportunity to <br />sign back up to Big Machine Records and 'earn' one <br />album back at a time, one for every new one I turned in.".<br />Now, a sneak peek of her upcoming appearance <br />on 'CBS Sunday Morning' indicates that Swift <br />intends to take matters into her own hands.<br />When asked if she plans to re-record <br />the music in question, Swift merely replied, <br />"oh yeah" and "yeah, absolutely.".<br />Kelly Clarkson might have given <br />her the idea, tweeting about the <br />ordeal shortly after it happened:.<br />@taylorswift13 just a thought, U should go in & re-record all the songs that U don’t own the masters on exactly how U did them but put brand new art & some kind of incentive so fans will no longer buy the old versions.
