South Korea wins its first world championships medal for race walking... eight years after the race finished.<br />According to the International Association of Athletics Federations on Tuesday, Kim Hyun Sub was recognized as a bronze medalist 8 years after competing in the 2011 Daegu World Championships... as three athletes who finished ahead of him were disqualified of their records due to doping.<br />Kim finished the men's 20-kilometer race walk in sixth place in 2011.<br />But in 2016, he was lifted to fourth place after the gold and silver medalists from Russia tested positive for illegal substances.<br />With another Russian bronze medalist failing a drug test recently, Kim was moved up to third place.<br />The IAAF will hold a medal ceremony for the new medalist in the 2019 World Championships in Doha, Qatar, next month.<br />
