Brazil's army will launch a one-month operation from Saturday to tackle the fires in the Amazon rainforest.<br />In a televised address Friday, Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro confirmed that he issued a decree to deploy soldiers in nature reserves, indigenous lands and border areas to help fight the fires. <br />Bolsonaro said that, as a military man, he learned to love the Amazon and he wants to protect it.<br />The announcement comes after intense pressure from several European leaders, demanding Brazil to do more to tackle the blazes.<br />While criticizing those countries for meddling for "political gain", Brazil has requested U.S. and Israeli assistance to tackle the fires. <br />
